Election 2017 LIVE updates: UK polls latest as May’s Conservatives wipe out Labour

17 May

The Tories are also dominant in the South East and South West, with the East Midlands also predicted to vote Conservative.

The same polls reveals that Labour is down on its 2015 votes in almost every region of the UK, except for the South West and South East.

6pm BST: The Conservatives remain in the lead with 47 per cent, according to new polls from Panelbase and Kantar Public.

The Panelbase poll put Labour at 33 per cent, up two points from the same poll last week, as the party tries to close the gap.

But the Kantar Public survey gave the Tories a 18-point lead over Labour at just 28 per cent.

Luke Taylor, head of social and political attitudes at Kantar Public, said that the Conservatives have an apparently “unassailable lead”

But he said: Other parties can still narrow the gap as more than one-in-ten (12%) of ‘likely voters’ in the election are still undecided.”
