Gunman opens fire at private school in Saudi Arabia, US embassy says

31 May

The Kingdom School, which charges 57,000 Saudi riyals (£11,820) per year, is attended by many children of expatriates living in Saudi Arabia.

The school is around 25 minutes from the embassy but many American citizens have children studying there.

The school was in session on Wednesday, according to a calendar on its website, but students may have left early because of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

There was no answer at the school’s main office when The Telegraph attempted to call.
