Sturgeon EU-turn? SNP leader praised report savaging Scottish plans to join EFTA as ‘good’

16 May

The First Minister had said on Sunday if Scotland was to leave the UK then it may consider membership of EFTA as a route into the EU single market.

But in an earlier email from her office to senior SNP ministers and civil servants, she called a report advising Scotland against joining the EFTA a “very good, extremely well-written paper”, according to the Telegraph.

The “restricted” email is understood to have been written on July 11, 2013 when she was Deputy First Minister.
