Britain’s NO DEAL PLAN: Chancellor to release BILLIONS into economy if deadlock continues

8 Oct

The spending, which comes as rebels warn Mrs May must make progress by Christmas, will be “unlocked” in the new year if breakthrough in talks is made with Brussels.

If the UK has not advanced in Brexit talks for a transition deal, Chancellor Philip Hammond is planning to release the extra cash to boost the economy.

Mr Hammond will sanction the Brexit spending in January, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

He will release the cash payout to speed up customs checks at borders if Britain has to revert to a World Trade Organisation tariff system, and also bring in a range of other measures.
