Ophelia tracker: Follow live path of storm on Monday

16 Oct

Storm Ophelia has brought hurricane-force winds to Britain and Ireland, killing one person.

Previously classified as a hurricane as it made its way across the Atlantic, it was first tracked nearly 900 miles off the coast of the Azores on October 9.

The storm hit the south-west coast of Ireland on Monday before sweeping up through the island. The Met Office warned of power cuts, flying debris, large waves and disruption to travel as the storm moved into Northern Ireland.

The storm is moving across to Wales, northern England and Scotland throughout Monday.

High winds are expected across the entire region, while a yellow warning is in place for much of Wales, Scotland, north east England, north west England, south west England and the West Midlands. Parts of Scotland and Wales have also been upgraded to amber.
