REVEALED: Why May’s Brexit pleas to European leaders will be SHUNNED at EU get-togethers

28 Apr

The official insisted that the UK will remain a part of the decision making process on all matters apart from Brexit up until it leaves the bloc in 2019.

That means Mrs May and her ministers will continue to attend all other Council meetings, where they will undoubtedly attempt to woo their counterparts on specific areas on national interest.

But the EU has maintained an extraordinarily united front on Brexit so far, something that even the most senior officials in Brussels say has “surprised” them.

They point out that it took the UK a whole nine months to finally notify the bloc of its intention to leave via the Article 50 letter, whilst EU leaders have thrashed out a common negotiating position in just one month.
